Mysterious Eye
Written and illustrated by young people from the Ursuline Secondary School, Mahon, Presentation Secondary School, Ballyphehane and North Presentation Secondary School, Farranree, Cork.
This book is intercultural in essence and seeks to promote interaction, collaboration and exchange with people of different cultures, ethnicity or religion. We hope it will provide the opportunity for teachers and young people to explore and raise concerns about serious issues, such as alcohol and drug abuse, racism and peer pressure.
"We do all kinds of painful things just to look good, like piercing our bellybuttons and tongues (ow!). We put on make-up...we starve ourselves...we do all kinds of painful things to animals for the same reason. Why do we do it? I don’t know."
- A quote from the book by participant.
