Kids’ Own believes in the importance of nurturing every child’s intrinsic creative capacity. We believe that children have a right to creative expression through art work and stories and we seek to provide a platform through which their voices can be heard.

Spotlight: The Butler Gallery
“What is art? No answers - just discovery!"
We have been working with children in Kilkenny to create a special book about art to mark the anniversary of the Butler Gallery Solas programme.
Children from the Solas programme have been working with Kids’ Own to explore different types of art and how we should think about art, in order to make their own creative ‘guide to art’ for other children and adults to read.
As part of this process, the children have interviewed a number of artists exhibiting at the Butler Gallery to find out about the variety of unique approaches that are involved in making art.
